Heidi B's promo for 103.5

Our RR Sister finished 3rd but isn't disheartened at all. Not many could have made it this far alone, so thanks to erveryone that voted. We still got love for you gurl!

Here's my interview withMiss Heidi B! No doubt she will be making a comeback so keep your eyes and ears tuned for the future.

1)Has it been a longtime goal of yours to get into radio?

Ever since I can remember ive been performing. I have always wanted to be in the entertainment industry, Ive wanted to do it all, movies, tv, radio. I honestly believe God created me the way I am to do this. I remember when I was younger I would buy blank tapes, I had a karoake machine, and a mirror. I used to sit in my room for hours staring in the mirror and recording myself on the microphone, like I was a big time DJ. I used to interview myself as a third person pretending I was a celebrity. So I have had the passion for radio my whole life, I feel like right now is the biggest shot so i have and will make the most of it. I mean what 8 year old sits at home and talks to herself all day? im just hoping all the karoake tapes will pay off! I told my mama those tapes would be worth zillions one day!! hahaa, im kidding.... Well not really :)

2)What kind of music influences you?

Music as a whole influences me, music to me one of the most powerful things in the world. I really am a lover of all music, It all depends on what mood Im in, if im feeling hyphy like getting ready to go out or about to jump on my bike ill put on some tupac or something to get me feeling like I can stomp the world! Haha! umm, what song gets me going ohhh... E-40 "Go Hard" that was my anthem for a while! If im sad or feeling sorry for myself ill put on some country, Ive been listening to Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood alot. Rock and Roll gets me up too, especially Aerosmith. That was the first concert I ever attended, those men can perform. I mean, in my range of music theres no begining or end.Of course Im a hip-hop honey, right now, the things im doing involves hip-hop, I live it, I breathe it, im kinda like a brown sugar soundtrack!

3)What's your favorite song of all time?

My Favorite somg of all time? Wow I dont even know. I go through favorite songs alot, I really dont have one favorite.I have songs that I love and that I could never get tired of like Tupac's "Bitch" and "Shorty gonna be a thug", Garth Brooks "The Dance" and Journey's "Faithfully", those are just a few but I got lots!!

4)How about your favorite song in the last month?

My Favorite song for the past month without a doubt is Kiesha Cole Ft. Missy and Lil Kim "Let it go". Thats like women juice for the bones. Its so impowering, its real, its live and thats why I love it. I have that song as my ringback tone and right now thats pretty much my theme song, thats all i'll say about that *Wink*

5)How do you like your chances of getting the Co-Host spot?

Right now I think my chances are pretty good. 400 people applied for the job, 30 were interviewed and then they chose the Top 5. I did pretty well at the interview but I wasnt cocky cause im sure there were other good interviews as well. So i stayed humble, when I was the first to be called for the Top 5 i was soo Happy! Jumping around and yelling but then I came back to reality and knew I have to hustle harder than ever. And as easily as God has given me this opportunity, he can take it away. I dont know the competiton yet but I know I am soo hungry and this is my passion. I refuse to let someone come in and take it from me. Please believe I am a fighter and I will fight to make this dream come true!

6)What do your family and friends think of you getting into radio?

My family and friends are so supportive. They believe in me so much! If anyone knows me they know how long and how bad ive wanted to do this, thier so happy for me. My grandma is full blooded Portuges, last Sunday we had a little family reunion, and i let everyone know what was going on. Half her sisters have never touched a computer in thier life but they are determined to get together and vote, so its wonderful, everyone has been so great! Im so blessed and thankful for the people I have in my life!

7)What were you doing before you got into this contest?

I work at a car autobody shop. Its a job, it pays the bills but its not something I invision myself doing for a long time. Its not a carrer, its just a place to pass time away. I know there are bigger things for me and thats how I keep from getting discouraged.Sitting from 8-5 at a job can drive you crazy if its not what you want to do. So I just keep faith and try to be patient, waiting for my time to shine!

8)You're one of the Sacramento Ruff Ryders, what's that like?

I cant explain what being part of the Ruff Ryders is like, Its so much deeper than a motorcycles. Its an extended family worldwide. I know I can count on my family for anything. Especially in our Sacramento chapter, its all family. We fight like family, we kiss and make up, but reguardless of what happens we know we have each others backs. Some of my very best friends I met because of the Ruff Ryders, one person in particular has changed my life. Its a great feeling to be apart of such a growing movement.

9)What's it like being a Female Ryder?

Its Cool being a female rider. You know the guys will joke around with you but its all fun. Women riders are starting to pop up more but we are still few and far between. I thinka female rider is not only sexy but intimatating. There are only 3 females in our chapter and we hold it down. When it comes to it us girls are very protective of our guys. We're always ready to jump out on the front line for our guys. We're the Sexy Saucy Soliders of the team!

10)Has anyone compared you to someone else famous?

I dont think I have ever been compared to someone famous, ive heard people say I will be famous one day but an actual comparison, nah not really.

11)You had a TV spot about latina's in the industry, why is that important to you?

I always think its important for minorities to be recognized, some of the greatest people were of color. I think people of color can be overlooked. Whether they're brown, black, red or blue. Society is changing and the minorities are coming up yayayaya! Im a lighter shade of brown, I'm Mexican and Portugese, dabbed with a sprinkle of German and Italian. Im Brown and im very proud of my heritage and where my family comes from. I love to see more minorities in the industry and of course i would love to see myself in the industry. I think I can make a change, matter of fact I know I can. Like Ne-yoSaid "Im a movement by myself!"

...In Conclusion...
Finally to close out this interview I just want to thank everyone who has supported me and my dream. I have been blessed with an opportunityand no matter what the outcome is I will give it my all. So thank you guys for being there, listening, voting and praying for me. I am only one woman and I cant do it alone. Thank you to the people who said I was never gonna make it, who laughed at the dreams I told them...You people are the ones who make me hustle that much harder and finally thank you to that mirror and ghetto karoake machine, this ones for us!
